About Me

Background:

After taking a few years off to be with my children,  I am super thrilled to be teaching again this year!   In 2002 I graduated from Georgia College & State University with a degree in business administration.  In  2006, after obtaining my teaching certificate in the state of Florida, I entered the education system starting in Orange County, Florida.  With well over 10 years experience teaching in school systems, the majority of my experience is teaching fifth grade and Gifted (grades K-5).    I have also taught 3rd grade, 3-5 Enrichment, and intervention classes.   I hold certificates in K-6 Elementary Education and ESE.  I am also endorsed in ESOL and Gifted Education.    My passion and creativity drive my teaching and I cannot be more excited to share this with our class this year!

Our family moved to St. Augustine about 2 years ago and it was the best decision we ever made!   I have two sons who both attend Island Prep and we have been so happy here.  If you can't find me at work, I am probably with my family doing something outdoors such as fishing or playing on the beach!  Besides teaching, I love going on adventures, college football, reading almost any book and baking sweet treats in my kitchen.
